Anthony Marchand - Ovimpex Secours Populaire - 1st in the 5h rankings

It was not easy, we really did not get much wind. In Penmarc’h, like many friends, we had to put anchor. It was necessary to get out “the reel” and it made some knots in doing so. The technique: it was to raise the anchor at the right time, I think with Charlie we were in good timing and it paid. I spent 20 - 30 minutes at anchor. I lost my head because I had big seaweed on the keel. I had to do a reverse, take out the knotted rope .... It took me a long time to undo it, but I did not want to dive too much. Cold water is not my thing. With the files of yesterday morning, we knew that it was going to be very slow, on the other hand what is good is that there is no sea, No swell ... So we slip on a small wire of 3-4 knots and it’s not so unpleasant. We will try to get closer to the goal, very slowly. The strategy will mainly be based on the tide, the reverse. It is true that if there is this wind at the Chaussé de Sein, we will not pass. The worry over there is that there is a lot of background, with our little anchors it would surprise me that you get to hook. There will be a lot of solutions: passing North of Sein and coming back to the right of the west… etc… There should be a lot of things to happen.

Charlie Dalin – Skipper Macif 2015 – 2nd in the 5h rankings

We are not in the wind of the buoy ... As they say. One is in evanescent winds. For now, the current is against. It is going to be put in the right direction in 2 hours and then the objective is to go to the west of Sein with the rising tide. We have a window of about ten hours to go through it before the current is reversed again. On the other hand, the trap is that the current will want to suck us on the Causeway, so we will have to make a beautiful loop. The start was very good for me, I had a good speed and I managed to catch a little gust that my close opponents did not have. I spent a sleepless night and I did not even need a jacket, this is rare! Otherwise, I managed to get out without getting wet! I had, however, prepared everything but I managed to always move in the right direction. I did not need to drop anchor.

Nicolas Lunven - Generali - 24th in the 5h rankings

The night was a bit complicated, a lot of sea weed, a very weak wind and very changing ... I was not very inspired. After the buoy “La Jument” of the Glenans, I shifted a bit to the wind of the road hoping to be a little more north and catch the synoptic first. Eventually, it was rather passed from below, so I got a little done. It’s a shame because I was pretty well placed. But the gaps remain stable, there can still happen a lot and for the moment, there is no drama. I think we have to beat records of slowness. Yesterday I told myself that at the sight of the files, the real situation could only be better; But in fact, no! It’s not better it’s really extremely low. I have not yet taken the time to take stock of the situation and look at my files, but surely it will not be nervous, the passage of the Raz de Sein should be complicated. Unfortunately I did not rest last night and I fear that the day is similar.
