We caught up with Loick Peyron after fleets first night at sea on Stage 3 to find out how life is on board Actin Enfance for the 59-year old who has won pretty much all there is to win in sailing.
“It was a magnificent night. Calm, but not too much. I don’t think anyone got any sleep. There is a lot of weed out here. Sudden stops. Then, having to go backwards. I tried something different. Under spinnaker it’s not easy trying to go backwards. There aren’t many boats ahead of me. A lot alongside and most behind me. We have to remain patient. We’ll see what happens, but it’s a game of patience. It’s going to take ages to get around Alderney. So, we’re a long way behind schedule. We saw Eliès senior in his little boat near the Seven Islands. That’s Patrick, Yann’s father.”
